Coach Cam Bruce said two consecutive weeks off can be frustrating this early in the season, but the break has allowed players time to get their bodies right.
“It’s one of those funny things. We would prefer to be playing but we’ve had a couple of injuries so they can rest up and get right before Hamilton,” Bruce said.
“I dislocated my toe about a month ago and it’s one of those lingering injuries that will annoy me. Tim Pickert’s foot swelled up over the weekend so we need to manage him.
“Jake Hobbs is still struggling with a hamstring and Jordy Burke hurt his shoulder during footy as well. So two weeks off isn’t the worst thing, but we would prefer to be playing.”
The Hornets will look to continue their undefeated run next Saturday, after three convincing performances to start the season.
