As the draw has fallen tonight’s games are a preview of what could happen when finals roll around in two weeks’ time.
First up the Murtoa Nuggets will be out to keep their faint finals hopes alive when they take on top of the table Pringles. Last time they met, Pringles won in four sets so another tough contest is expected.
The Murtoa team is gearing up for SSV state finals next week and will be going all out to upset the ladder leaders.
Next up, second plays third on the ladder with the Murtoa Lizards doing battle with the Bingo Biddies. Last time they played, the Lizards won in four sets.
The Lizards will be primed for this encounter after spending the weekend playing in the Bendigo Tournament.
Then the improving HC Norms take on fifth placed Dream Team. The youngsters from the Dream Team need to win to stay in the five, as the Murtoa Railway and Murtoa Nuggets are breathing down their necks.
Zac Filcock and Brendan Mackley have shown good improvement over the past month for the HC Norms, while the powerful duo of Ryan Gebert and Jett Hopper will be out to pound their serves at the opposition to keep them under pressure.
After an unlucky loss last round, Murtoa Railway will be looking to get back onto the winner’s list at the expense of the HC Thunder. If results go their way from the other court, and the Murtoa Railway win, they could find themselves back in the five at the end of the night.
The final game sees the Piccolo Nuggets do battle with the St Brigid’s Raptors.
The Nuggets have to keep winning to retain their spot in the five, while the Raptors are ever improving and could make life difficult for the Nuggets.
