Nectar Farms chief executive Stephen Sasse and members of his team “gave an overview of the project” to members of the community, giving a view of what the masterplan looks like.
The main point to take out of the sessions was a timeline for the project, revealing work will begin early next year on the greenhouse development.
A planning application will be submitted on November 16, with earthworks expected to commence from January 14 at the Joel Joel site. Glasshouse erection is epxected to run from late April to early August next year.
The sessions also served as an opportunity for community members to provide feedback on the plan.
“We had very successful sessions, particulalry at Joel Joel,” Nectar Farms chief executive Stephen Sasse said.
“We will be making a few modifications to the master plan in light of those conversations.
“With an increase in traffic in construction and operations it will impact people moving flocks so we are looking at mechanisms to overcome that risk.
”We also addressed the level of activity on total fire ban days among other things.
“There was nothing we are surprised or concerned about which is a great thing.”
The glasshouse project is expected to create more than 1000 jobs in the region.
