This competition is geared for secondary school girls and no previous cricket experience is required. We hope plenty of girls get down to the ground to learn the game and have some fun.
Last weekend in the boys’ competition, the Bullants hosted Dunmunkle Renegades Red at Noradjuha in the under 14s, but it was the visitors who claimed the win 10/123 to 9/57.
Best with the bat for Renegades Red were Blake Downer (22), Caleb Hurley (18) and Connor Weidemann (15) while Deegan McKenry, Patrick Rogers, Archie Sudholz and Clive Dunstan all took two wickets for the Bullants.
Nicholas Fischer top scored for Bullants with 13 and Ethan Heard made 10. Baxta Hendy and Keylan Ryan took two wickets each for the visitors.
At the Dimboola Rd Oval Jung Tigers were too strong for Saints Red scoring 3/108 to 7/88. Logan Millar made 17no, Levi Mock 19no and Dylan Newell 15no.
Archie Sostheim top scored for the Saints with 12 retired and took a wicket. Levi Mock took two wickets for Jung.
At Dimboola, WWW/BHD were outclassed by Homers Red 5/92 to 10/46. Homers’ Connor Chivell and Ammar Khan retired on 14 and 23 respectively while Macey Laverty and Xavier Bone made 11 each for the home side.
With the ball, Archie Elliott returned an outstanding 3/2 and was closely followed by Ammar Khan with 2/3.
Saints Black took the points against Laharum with Aayush Kant top scoring with 19 retired. Hugh Dougherty retired on 13 and Fraser McIntyre smashed back-to-back fours to end the match, finishing on 12no.
In the under 16.5 match at the Dock Lake Reserve the visiting West Wimmera Warriors sent the Horsham Saints in to bat, and fairly quickly would have regretted this move because the Saints made 148 for the loss of just two wickets.
Dylan Thompson led the way with 51 retired, Aiden Laffy made 45 and Lachlan Pike assisted with 21no. West Wimmera made 6/102 with six Saints bowlers sharing the wickets.
Jordan Leach with 38 shone for West Wimmera. A highlight in the field for the Saints saw Harry Freak take a one-handed catch at backward point.
