Horsham RSL has organised a service to remember the soldiers who during World War I. The service will take place at Sawyer Park at 10.45pm. There will be a second service at 7.45pm at Anzac Centenary Bridge.
Services are organised in Murtoa, Kaniva, Dimboola, Warracknabeal, Birchip, St Arnaud, Edenhope and Ararat.
The Remembrance Day service in Dimboola, at the Dimboola Memorial Secondary College, starts at 10.45am. It is the first time the Dimboola RSL has held a commemorative service at the college.
Dimboola RSL president Ivan Jones said all future commemorative services will be conducted at the school.
Services start at 11am in Murtoa at the Memorial Gates on Lake Street, in St Arnaud at the World War I memorial, in Edenhope at the memorial and in Ararat at the Cenotaph on Barkley Street.
A Remembrance Day service in Birchip, at the Cenotaph on the main street, at 10.50am. The service will be followed by a family bush picnic behind the Cenotaph.
A service in Warracknabeal starts at 10.30am at the Cenotaph opposite the town’s post office. There will be two speakers followed by the national anthem sung by a school choir and laying of wreaths.
The Remembrance Day service in Kaniva starts at 10.45am at the war memorial with a minute silent at 11am.
Kaniva RSL president Roderick McIntyre said the service will be followed by an unveiling of the original World War I honour board at the shire office.
