The centre is hosting its open day featuring the Kannamaroo Gift on Sunday at Dudley Cornell Park.
Horsham Little Athletics Centre vice president Terry Arnell said members and non-members would be competing alongside each other come Sunday.
“It’s our open day and it’s pretty much our one event of the year where we open it up to all other centres in the region, as well as our members and non-members,” he said.
“We invite them all to compete in an athletics program. The numbers are usually pretty strong and we can get between 100-125 people. Hopefully we get towards those numbers again this year, which we can handle reasonably easily.”
The Kannamaroo Gift will be the marquee event.
The under-6 and under-7 age groups will have their separate dashes, with the other age groups to be grouped in two handicap sprints.
“The marquee events will be finishing the day with the under-6 50-metre and under-7 70-metre dashes, then the under-8 to under-11 will compete in a handicap sprint, as well as the under-12 to under-16 age groups,” Mr Arnell said.
“You can get the younger ones starting off 18 or 19 metres and we have timing gates which we have needed the past couple of years because it has been that close.
“It’s a good chance for families and extended families to come down and have a look.”
The open day kicks off at 9am with spectators invited to encourage on the young competitors.
