The Horsham Rockets, Horsham Heat and a team from Warracknabeal are set to make the journey across to take part in the all abilities games, along with participants from all over Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales.
The games encourage participation, friendly competition and provide a great chance for interaction among adults with a disability.
Team manager from the Horsham Heat, Jake Myerscough, said after Horsham hosted the games the last three years, it’s become a highly anticipated event each year.
“It’s definitely boosted the numbers from this area, and it’s definitely marked in on the calander now,” Myerscough said.
“As soon as it finishes they’re talking about the next years games straight away.”
Competitors will participate in both individual and team sports. There are also a number of social functions throughout the week, including a disco every night after the events.
“It’s really good for the guys,” Myerscough said.
“You see the excitement on their faces when they get to go out meet new people and have a dance with all these other people with different abilities.”
