Caris, who has recently signed with Melbourne University in the Victorian Netball League, is one of three Greater Western Victoria Rebels players to make the 2019 academy.
Ararat Storm’s Isabella Simmons also earned selection in the academy.
Caris’ selection comes less than a month after her sister, Rene, was picked up in the AFLW draft by the Geelong Cats.
"At the recent AFLW Draft, 19 Academy players joined AFLW clubs," AFLW talent manager Aasta O'Connor said.
"With four further expansion teams entering the AFLW competition in 2020 (Gold Coast, Richmond, St Kilda and West Coast), the high performance coaching we provide these players is even more important."
