It is terrific to see cricket flourishing at this level in the outer regions. And it was the Bullants who held sway with a fine win 3/93 to 7/71.
Ethan Heard top-scored for the Bullants with 17 no. Nathan Hughes made 11 no and Patrick Rogers made 10 no. Will Gellatly top-scored for the Renegades Black with 18. Oscar Gawth made 16 and Cameron Newell finished on 12 no. Nathan Hughes took 3/7 and Jack Snowden took 2/2 for the Bullants.
The Saints went to Rupanyup to square off against Dunmunkle Renegades Red but were no match for the home team. Zidane Heldt, with 16 no, top-scored for the Saints.
For the Renegades, Tehji Thandi shone with the ball, snaring 3/11. Keylan Ryan took 2/8. When the Renegades batted, Blake Downer retired on 21, Connor Weidemann retired on 23 and Keylan Ryan retired on 15. Sean McDonald was up to the task with the ball for the Saints as he snavelled 3/18.
At the Dimboola Road Oval, we saw Saints Black take the points with a solid win 5/108 to Jung Tigers 5/81. Hugh Dougherty (21 ret) and Ryan Amin (15 ret) set up the win with a fine opening stand and Saxon Sounness retired on 20.
Sebastion Le Roux and Dylan Newell both took 2 wickets for the Tigers and Levi Mock and Logan Millar were best with the bat scoring 27 no and 14 respectively.
The Saints’ bowlers were tight and were extremely well supported by their fieldsmen. Hugh Dougherty took 2 wickets and Codie Keddie took 3.
WWW/BHD went down to Homers Red 5/100 to 8/48. Jett Hopper made 21 no for the victors. Jobe Dickinson was the best bowler for WWW/BHD with 2/9. James Officer took 3/2 for Homers. Homers White, with a score of 5/113, beat Laharum 7/59.
In the under 16.5s, Dunmunkle Renegades beat Horsham Saints at the Dock Lake Reserve in a tight contest. Deacon Campbell impressed with the bat for the Renegades, with 32, while Lachlan Pike took 2/8 for the Saints. Harry Freak made 23 no for the Saints. Aiden Laffy scored 20 and Cody Kenny made 17.
For the Bullants, Blake Turner, Rhyce Allen and Nick Ballagh all took 2 wickets with Ballagh completing a great match with 2/2.
