A highlight of the weekend will see five national level 10 girls competing on Sunday morning.
Head coach Lynette Morrow said the club has never had girls of such a high standard competing.
“That will be a bit of a highlight – that level is the highest you can go and having five coming from other clubs will be great to see,” she said.
“This is the first time we have had five level 10s competing, so we are excited for that.
“We then have three national level 8 competitors from Natimuk, and that is currently the highest level we have as a club.
Morrow expects 340 competitors from across the state and also South Australia to compete at Natimuk. About 15 clubs will be represented at the invitational.
“I think it’s the biggest competition we have had and our annual invitational has been going for about 16 years now,” she said.
“It’s a big weekend for us and it’s very exciting for the sport to be able to bring high quality gymnastics to the region.
“It’s well supported from our Wimmera clubs in Stawell and Ararat and also down to Hamilton, so it’s good for them too not having to travel too far.”
Morrow said she was excited to see what the Natimuk gymnastics could produce at the weekend in their home gym.
“Hailey Puls and Kayla Kelm represented our club at Victoria championships so it will be exciting to see where they are at,” she said.
“Our level 4 teams are quite strong and we are looking to see where they sit in the mix of everyone.”
Competition kicks off on Saturday at 8am, running through to about 7.30pm.
Sunday events start at 8.30am with the competition expected to wrap up at about 5.30pm.
A family entry to the event costs $5.
