Warracknabeal Police Senior Constable Sharlene Baldock said the incident occurred on November 12 at 5.20pm.
“Two males were out the front of IGA Supermarket, one was on the footpath and the other was in his car,” she said.
“The man in his car allegedly made a comment to the man on the footpath about him mistreating his own dog.
“The alleged offender then approached the man in the car, jumped inside and assaulted him. They ended up on the road on the driver’s side.”
Both men sustained injuries but did not attend hospital.
“Police are continuing investigations and are asking witnesses to the incident to come forward,” she said.
Senior Constable said people with information could contact the Warracknabeal Police Station on 5398 1044.
