The O’Sullivans faced the board this week answering three charges. Their horses Darragh and Gold A Plenty returned extremely high cobalt readings of 1200 micrograms per litre of urine – and higher – in 2015 and 2016.
Those readings were more than six times the permitted cobalt threshold level at the time of the alleged offences.
The board reserved its decision and said the duo would receive the outcome of the hearing within seven to 14 days.
The trainers face a mandatory minimum three-year disqualification if the board finds them guilty of administration of cobalt.
Racing Victoria stewards say there were potential causes for horses prepared by the O'Sullivans to record high cobalt readings, despite denials from the training partners of any illegal intervention.
