The school won Most Engaging Garden for Learning at the Victorian Schools Garden Awards recently.
Campus manager Brenda Evans said the school staff and students were thrilled to receive the recognition.
“We just entered the awards and really didn’t expect to win anything. We’re very happy about it,” she said.
“We had one of our students, Stevie Clark, and her dad go down to Melbourne to represent the school, alongside someone from Wimmera Southern Mallee LLEN.”
The sensory garden includes a number of garden beds with vegetables and herbs.
Mrs Evans said the garden helped students learn about where their food comes from and promoted sustainability.
“The garden is a bush tucker garden. The LLEN has been fantastic in leading the program and teaching the children about bush tucker. We also have volunteers who come along and help out,” she said.
"We’ve also had a lot of help from Bunning’s who have helped create worm farms and compost to make the garden sustainable.”
