TWO people are in custody as police continue to investigate an armed robbery on High Street, Ararat overnight.
It’s understood two offenders entered the licensed premises about 10.30pm on Sunday 18 November.
One of the offenders threatened staff with a firearm before stealing an unspecified amount of money and running north east toward Campbell street.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman in relation to the incident at a West Melton property about 7am this morning.

POLICE are investigating an incident that occurred at the Ararat RSL on Sunday night.
Police are yet to confirm the nature of the incident and would only confirm to the Ararat Advertiser that an incident had occurred.
Police said they expected to release more detail soon.
The Ararat Advertiser will bring you more information as it emerges.
This is the second incident that has occurred at the venue in the past month.
Following the previous incident, police released footage showing a light coloured four-wheel drive vehicle they believe was involved. They appealed for witnesses’ dash camera footage.
