Thirty-five children registered to participate in the Horsham program, which will run for five weeks.
The Aussie Hoops program is Basketball Australia’s official introductory program, providing a fun and inclusive basketball experience for five to 10-year-olds that serves as an introduction to a lifetime of involvement in the game.
In addition to promoting healthy and active lifestyles, the program serves as a platform for social development and inclusion – fostering stronger and more vibrant communities and individuals.
For the first time in quite some time, 19 girls have registered to participate and the association is super excited about this number.
The association has been working hard on the girls’ program for some time and Aussie Hoops is where it all starts – great to see such promising signs for the future.
The program is lucky to have the support of the Horsham men and lady Hornets who are helping out for this term.
Men’s coach Cam Bruce and Matt Lovel helped out at the first session, as did Caitlyn Story, Ema Iredell, Jemma Thomas, and Beck McIntyre.
The children love having the Hornets players there and will get to meet most of them at a session over the next five weeks.
