The left-hander hasn't played since undergoing surgery on a meniscus tear suffered during the warm ups for day four of the second Test against Pakistan in the UAE last month.
Khawaja faced some throwdowns last week and has proven his fitness to Bulls selectors by coming through net sessions this week without any complications.
The clash with the table-topping Bushrangers will enable Khawaja to gain some valuable match fitness before the first Test at the Adelaide Oval.
Khawaja's scored an epic 141 in Dubai against Pakistan at the start of October, which helped Australia secure an unlikely Test draw.
In his absence, Australia crumbled to a 373-run defeat in the second Test.
Khawaja is the only change to the Bulls side that lost to NSW in Canberra last week, replacing pace bowler Brendan Doggett who suffered a quad strain during the match.
