The 10 sets to four win means Haven now sits in fourth spot on the ladder after overtaking Drung South, while the Saints remain at the top of the table.
St Michael’s went into Saturday’s match missing a contingent of regulars, including both number its one players in sisters Steffi and Jess McDonald.
Haven was also without some of its regular players including captain Kirby Knight, but was boosted by the inclusion of siblings Edmund and Philippa Bush.
Haven took three of the first four doubles sets of the day, then claimed all but one singles rubber to set up the win.
Acting Haven captain Skye Davis said it was a great day of tennis.
“When I saw their team I thought we were definitely in with a chance to win a few sets,” she said.
“The weather was pretty good for tennis and everyone contributed well to get the win.”
St Michael's captain Chris Ellis said his team had six of its best eight players out for various reasons, but was still competitive.
“Ian and Ange Nitschke were away in Melbourne, we had Steffi and Jess away, Peter Hayes was out as well, and Nick Robertson was working,” he said.
“The fill-ins we had did a really good job.
“Jason Przibilla plays for Homers in A Special and they had a bye, so we were able to get him across on a day clearance.
“Dan Krahe from Warracknabeal is a good tennis player and he played number three for us and won two sets.
“Overall it was a fairly good day of tennis.
“Haven has a really good young side, and they are all pretty even and consistent players. They’ll only keep improving.”
In other pennant matches, Kalkee defeated Drung South for a second time this season.
The Drung side was dominant in the singles section, but Kalkee was too consistent in doubles and went on to win eight sets to six. Drung South however secured more games, 84 to 79.
Horsham Lawn has a firm grip on second spot after a comfortable 11 sets to three win against Telangatuk East.
Brimpaen remains atop the A Special ladder after defeating Horsham Lawn, while second-placed Central Park Red had a big win against Haven. Natimuk narrowly got across the line against Noradjuha, while Central Park Blue beat Drung South.
Kalkee, Haven and St Michael’s were the winners in A Grade, while Central Park picked up four points after their opponents Brimpaen forfeited. Drung South and Natimuk won in B Grade.
