The $1.2 million upgraded comprised of a nature-based play space and a walking track.
A West Wimmera Shire spokeswoman said the revitalisation project was a chance to boost an “essential tourism product” that also served as a gathering space for nearby residents.
The spokeswoman said the nature-based play space will be completed in two sections.
The first stage has started with the construction of a new playground and flying fox. The works are expected to be finished by the end of December.
The spokeswoman said improvements to the wetlands and visitor amenities was apart of the play space upgrade. She said the area will also include a parrot flight area and a native forest fruits orchard.
The works will be completed by late 2019.
The spokeswoman said a 750 metre walking track was also being built. She said the trail will weave between the park and wetlands.
The spokeswoman said the park has been closed for construction.
