It comes a year after Charlton secured prolific goal scorer Kain Robins as its playing coach.
Giants coach Coleman Schache said Orval would be a big loss. Orval played in this year’s Wimmera league senior grand final loss to Horsham.
“We are disappointed to lose him and he has been a big local player for us and played for Beulah in his junior days,” he said.
“It’s a big loss for us and the community. He brought that x-factor and could win a game off his own boot. He was a good man around the club – we will miss him for sure.
“It’s something different for him and another challenge.”
Charlton has also secured Jack Landrigan who played six senior games for the Giants in 2018.
Schache said the Giants hadn’t locked in any new recruits as of yet.
“Hopefully we can replace a couple of players but we haven’t got anything locked in as of yet,” he said.
“I think losing Brock will give someone else a chance, and there were a couple of our players who were stiff to miss out on the grand final. Hopefully they can have solid pre-seasons and put their hands up for selection.”
