The association is looking at splitting the senior men and women’s competitions into A and B Divisions after the break to create a competitive second round and finals’ series. Some of the results this week will weigh heavily into where teams may land.
The women’s competition has seen some powerhouse teams dominating the competition, with Troopers undefeated. Saints and the U18 Hornets squad are not far behind with only a single loss. The Protectors are currently the wildcard as the team has not fielded a full side to date and will be one to watch in the lead up to finals.
The U16 Hornets squad is also showing great promise. This group of youngsters is playing with great confidence and showing the depth of talent within the association. Demons will also be a team to watch post break. Kalkee, who have struggled with numbers of late, are also not to be disregarded once at full strength. The A Team is also showing great promise with improved performances in recent matches.
In the Men’s competition, a potential split between A grade and B grade is still up in the air with the results from this week’s fixtures determining what will end up being a great competition in both grades. Currently, the U18 Hornets squad and Tropics 1 are the leaders of the pack. A number of other teams such as Bald Cats, The Mighty Ducks, and Gargoyles are also showing to be A grade calibre. However, which teams will form the A grade competition is anyone’s guess with so many teams in the middle of the pack.
