With five more days until Christmas, stores are flat out catering for the demand during one of their busiest trading periods.
Toyworld Horsham owner and manager Angela Ballinger said customers were buying a variety of presents, which made it too hard to choose a must-have gift.
Board games, however, have been “hugely popular.”
“I would say 5 Second Rule has been extremely popular, as has Sequence. But, for adults it’s board games like Settlers of Catan that have been popular,” she said.
Mrs Ballinger said the Our Generation Doll and LOL Doll have been big-sellers in the girls range. Meanwhile, Beyblades and Transformers have been selling strong in the boys range.
“LEGO continues to be strong. The big Voltron and anything Harry Potter are the most popular,” she said.
Mrs Ballinger has seen a resurgence of Toy Story characters and Emma Wiggle was no doubt a favourite as well.
She noticed a trend of sustainable wooden toys for pre-school age children.
“People are very mindful of getting back to some retro items that might evoke memories of their childhood. We are talking about toys made from sustainable timber and nice wooden items,” she said.
