THE Horsham Demons will turn to coaching pair Mel Scott and Amanda Worthy in a bid to win a Wimmera Netball Association A Grade premiership next season.

After a heart breaking one-point loss to the Horsham Saints in this year’s grand final, Scott and Worthy take over from Pauline Butler.
Butler, who was the president of the Wimmera Netball Association this year, will take a break from all coaching in 2019.
Demons netball director Emma Hopper said Scott and Worthy were strong members of the club.
“Mel has been at our club for about 10 years and Amanda is a life member who played more than 200 A Grade games in the Wimmera league,” she said.
“We wanted them to share it around and Mel is looking at playing next season so it’s good to have that support on the side as well.”
Scott is coming back from an anterior cruciate ligament operation but has hopes of playing A Grade netball in 2019.
Hopper said Butler was looking for a break next year but would still be around the club.
“She is coming off a big year being the league president and also coaching,” she said.
“She needed a break and won’t be coaching but she will be around in a supporting capacity.”
Jodie Potter will again coach the B Grade side, while Hopper will lead the C Grade team.
Hopper said wheels were in motion for another great year for the Demons next season – Horsham won all but one netball premiership this season, missing out on the A Grade.
“I think the group is fairly fired up to go one better and certainly have taken away a lot from the grand final this year,” she said.
“We have a few past club players who have moved back to town and would be keen to play. Out of the whole senior group we haven’t lost a lot of players so we are in a good spot.”
