A 39-year-old Stawell man crashed his car into the front fence of a Wakeham Street property in Stawell at about 2am on the morning of December 22.
“He lost control of the vehicle and collided into the front fence, causing minor damage to the residence,” Stawell Acting Sergeant Bryan Anderson said.
He allegedly returned a “high” blood alcohol content reading when breathalysed by police.
He was charged with drink driving as well as other traffic offences and released pending summons.
There were no injuries to any people from the incident.
Acting Sergeant Anderson said he hopes to see drivers making smarter decisions before driving over the Christmas break.
“The message is out there that we will be targeting drink driving, speeding and fatigue,” he said.
“People need to stop and think ‘is it safe for me to be driving’ before doing so, and find alternatives if it isn’t.
“We want everyone to stay safe on the roads and enjoy their Christmas.”
