Mr Colosimo died unexpectedly on December 19, aged 52.
Horsham Saints Football and Netball Club football operations co-director Anthony Woodhead was a close friend of Mr Colosimo.
“We grew up together, so we went right back to our secondary school days at Horsham College,” he said.
“Bruno was a very loyal and hardworking person. When his family opened up the pizza shop in Horsham, all the kids helped out and Bruno would be working there after school.”
Mr Woodhead said Mr Colosimo was an avid supporter of football, including the Horsham Saints – where he is a life member – and his beloved Carlton Blues.
“He was a brilliant supporter of our club; he was very loyal to the community,” Mr Woodhead said.
“Bruno did numerous jobs and helped out wherever he could. He would be the gatekeeper, was bar manager for a while, was on the committee, did the catering. He never played AFL – he was a soccer man.”
Mr Woodhead said Mr Colosimo’s loss was felt across the club.
“We were in disbelief when we heard; it was just the shock of it happening so suddenly. His family has had a really rough year, so it’s a very tough time for them as you can imagine,” he said.
Mr Colosimo worked at Horsham’s Morrow Motor Group as a detailer. Owner Gavin Morrow said Mr Colosimo was a beloved employee.
“It seemed that everyone who met him liked him, and he got on with everyone; everyone in town seemed to know him,” he said. “We’re all pleased that our paths were able to pass with his.”
Mr Morrow said Mr Colosimo had a big impact on the business.
“He only worked here for six months, but within the first few days people were coming up to me saying how hard a worker he was – that came from his family background,” he said.
“Although he was a detailer, he was also picking up and dropping off customers so he’d always have a chat to them, which I guess was due to his experiences as a taxi driver.”
Mr Colosimo is survived by a number of close family members, including his father Raffaele. His funeral will be in Coburg, with the date and time yet to be confirmed.
