A WOMAN, 42 will face Horsham Magistrates Court after police caught her speeding and drink-driving with a blood alcohol reading of 0.282 near Pimpinio on Boxing Day.

Highway Patrol Acting Sergeant Heath Martin confirmed that police stopped the woman, 42, while she was travelling on the Western Highway at 8.10am on December 26.
Police nabbed the woman travelling at 128 kilometres an hour in a 100kmh zone.
Acting Sergeant Martin said the woman’s two children were also in the car at the time.
She later allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.282, and police expect to charge her on summons with several offences.
Her licence was immediately suspended pending the court appearance at a later date.
The woman’s charges came during Victoria’s Police holiday road safety initiative, Operation Roadwise.
The operation ended yesterday.
In the 13 days between December 14 and December 26, 105 motorists were caught speeding in the Horsham police service area, while a further six were charged with drink-driving.
Acting Sergeant Martin said police had been “pretty busy” during the holiday period.
The Mail-Times has contacted police for an update on the number of offences recorded across the entire operation between December 14 and January 6.
