A Country Fire Authority media spokesman said the fire started about 6.40pm.
It was at the intersection of Clear Lake-Sherwoods Dam Road and Ryans Road.
The spokesman said the fire was about an acre in size and four trucks were responding to the scene.
“The fire was started by a header and it looks like the stubble has been caught alight,” he said.
The spokesman said no other emergency service vehicles have been required at this stage.
