Country Fire Authority District 18 operations officer Matt Chilton said the grass fire started at McPhersons Road at 2.40pm.
Mr Chilton said the cause for the fire was a tractor. He said the grass fire spread to nearby trees and crews have contained further spread.
“The fire was started by the tractor, but it looks like the tractor moved aside and the grass fire spread to a few trees,” he said.
“We have four vehicles responding and the fire has been mostly contained.”
