Fancy a burger from out of the bonnet?
IT is not every day you see someone cooking a barbecue in the front end of an old Holden, but on Australia Day it seems anything is possible.

The unique contraption turned heads at Rupanyup’s Australia Day ceremony on Monday, where it took centre stage as the community barbecue.
Warracknabeal panel beater Bob Oliver restored the front end of the 1958 Holden FC and installed a barbecue in the engine bay late last year.
His daughter Kimberley Oliver said the project was finished just in time for its first ‘run’ in her Rupanyup backyard on Boxing Day. She said she asked her father if she could keep it for a month, knowing it would make a perfect addition to Rupanyup’s Australia Day activities.
‘‘I was posing for a lot of photos with it on Monday,’’ she said. ‘‘And my partner, who was trying to cook the barbecue, also had to stop for a lot of photos.’’
Meet our proud new Australians
A DOCTOR, business owner and manager were among seven people who became Australian citizens during Horsham’s Australia Day ceremony on Monday.
South African doctor Chris Wimbury, his wife Ingrid, and their sons James and Joshua; Horsham Thai-food restaurant Thai Basil owner Pawel Poplawski of Poland; GWMWater strategic asset manager Svetla Petkova of Bulgaria; and August Koch of South Africa made up the seven.
They were among 13,000 people to become Australian citizens at Australia Day ceremonies throughout Australia this year.
The citizenship ceremony capped off an exciting two years for Ms Petkova. She left Bulgaria for Australia nine years ago, moving to Horsham in 2007 to take on a position with GWMWater. Since then she has formed a relationship and had her first child, Aiden, now 11 months old.
Nixon steals the show
BARBECUES, Australian flags and award presentations were the order of the day throughout the Wimmera on Monday, along with plenty of cricket, tennis and good cheer.
Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Christine Nixon stole the show at Natimuk’s flag-raising ceremony, signing several autographs while mingling with the crowd after giving her Australia Day address. She said she was ‘delighted’ to be in the region.
