No fire can be lit in the open air or be allowed to remain alight in the open air between 00:01am and 11.59pm.
A Fire Danger Rating of “severe" was issued for the Wimmera. No Total Fire Ban day has been declared for Thursday at this stage.
People living in areas at risk of fire are advised to activate their bush fire plan.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a very hot and sunny day with temperatures up to 42 degrees for the Horsham on Thursday, while 40 degrees is forecast for Friday.
Light winds of 20 to 25 km/h will be experienced during Friday morning, while they will pick up to 25 to 35 km/h around 12noon.
