Three tankers were sent to an address on Birchip Road at 8.51am.
District 17 acting operations manager Christian Thorley said firefighters let the six bales burn out, with tankers surrounding the fire to prevent it spreading.
The trucks left the scene at 9.10am.
It comes as the mercury is set to reach 42 degrees in parts of the Wimmera on Thursday.
Friday has been declared a total fire ban day.
Earlier this month, District 17 operations officer Lindsay Barry said there had been a higher number of haystack fires than the previous fire danger seasons.
