McIntyre is an assistant coach of the women’s Apunipima Australian Indigenous Basketball squad, due to play in the World Indigenous Basketball Championships in New Zealand in March.
The 20-woman squad includes representatives from all states and territories. A final team of 10 will be chosen.
Headlining the squad is Women’s National Basketball League star and recently named Australian Opals squad member Alex Wilson, while Olympic silver medalist Rohanee Cox has put her retirement plans on hold to suit up for the All Stars.
Also named are Cairns-based rising stars Indiah Bowyer and Shaneice Swain. The duo come off gold-medal winning performances for the Australian under 15 girl’s national team at the FIBA Oceania Championships in Papua New Guinea.
Ricky Baldwin is head coach. McIntyre and Timmy Duggan are assistant coaches and Belinda Hayden is team manager.
