Headlining the handful of new recruits are Wimmera league footballers Chris Walsh and Nathan Clough.
Clough is a two-time premiership player with the Horsham Saints and will add some much needed grunt and size to the Tigers midfield compartment.
Pimpinio head coach Liam Jakobi said he was stoked to have Clough on board.
“He’s a really handy pick up for us,” Jakobi said. “We’ve been talking to him for a while and fortunately he’s made the move across now.
“He is a bigger body in the midfield, we’ve got quite a few smaller guys in there so he will really bolster our midfield stocks.”
Chris Walsh has signed from the Horsham Demons and will be an assistant coach at Pimpinio.
Walsh said he was looking forward to his first senior coaching position and helping Jakobi in his first year at the helm.
“I’ve coached a little bit before but to do it at a senior level is another step-up so I’m pretty excited about it,” Walsh said.
“I’m just there to assist Liam as much as I can and to guide him however I can. I’ll offer plenty of advice but at the end of the day it’s his decision.”
Jakobi said he was excited to have Walsh helping him in his first season of senior coaching.
“He brings experience and another perspective on the game as well,” Jakobi said.
“It will be helpful for me with the my first time in the role. I’m excited to have him around.”
Jayden Walters, Nick Thompson and Sam Rintoule have also signed on with the Tigers.
Rintoule played for Taylors Lake last season. Walters – who last played for Rapanyup – and Thompson return after a break from football.
“They’re keen to get stuck back into it which is good,” Jakobi said.
“They’ve all played some senior footy before and it’s going to add a bit more depth to our side.”
After several down years, Jakobi said there was a positive atmosphere at Pimpinio ahead of the season.
“The enthusiasm is up and the numbers are up with the few signings we’ve had – it’s pretty exciting,” Jakobi said.
“We’re still talking to a few more so hopefully we can get a couple more guys across the line as well.”
