A HORSHAM man has pleaded guilty to arson and burglary charges after a fire at Horsham Florist last year.
Ben Jones appeared at Horsham Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday via video link.
He entered a plea of guilty to the arson and burglary charges. He remains remanded in custody.
Police had previously told the court Mr Jones broke into the Roberts Avenue building on November 3 with the intent to steal money.
Police arrested him less than two days later after officers found Mr Jones’ wallet in the area.
Horsham Florist suffered extensive damage to both the building and its stock, as well as, smoke damage.
Police estimate the damage bill to have reached $160,000 – $80,000 to the building itself and $80,000 to stock.

The long-time Horsham business has since moved premises to Darlot Street.
Mr Jones will reappear at Horsham County Court on March 18.
