Sporting their sharp swimwear, the new look Horsham Sharks walked - or swam - away from the weekend’s St Arnaud's meet with a number of fine performances.
Individual honours went to Jacob Matuschka, who was awarded the Leigh Amos memorial trophy for 12-13-year-old boys, combining the swimmer's performances over four strokes. Jorja Clode was awarded the Heather Phillips memorial trophy for the 10-11-year-old swimmer, with the highest aggregate points total across all events entered. Fine results were also recorded by Madee Townsend, Henry and Sienna Walsgott, Jack and Claudia Lanyon, Alexandra Salter and Elita Scollary.
Things are hotting up at the Horsham Aquatic Centre with the Wimmera District Championships only two weeks away followed by the Victorian Interdistrict Championships. After finishing third in the overall club tally on the weekend, the Sharks have their work cut out for them in their bid for both individual and club honours.
