Wimmera Machinery Field Days committee president Chris Bartlett said Wednesday, March 6 was family day.
“It’s always well attended and we’re hoping to get a good crowd from the younger generation. Hopefully they get an eye opener to the agriculture industry,” he said.
“It’s a great event for families to come along to to introduce their children to agriculture.”
Popular children’s entertainer George the Farmer will perform in the auditorium at 10am and 12.30pm on Wednesday. Children will get the chance to meet George and his friends after the shows.
The Field Days Square will be hub of family fun, with an animal farm, the Field Days Train, and the Green Park Kindergarten Tent, which will have plenty of activities to keep children entertained.
The Kids Fashion Parade will be a chance for children to shine on the catwalk, showing the latest designs from Horsham’s Kawaii Kids.
The parade is on Wednesday at 11am in the auditorium.
There is sure to be something for everyone at the Country Lifestyle Precinct. The Country Gourmet Pavilion will host everything from live cooking demonstrations from professional chefs, to the ever-popular fashion parades.
Field days fashion parades are in the auditorium on Tuesday and Thursday at 11.30am.
The parades will feature displays of this season’s latest fashions from participating exhibitors on site, as well as the latest regional designs and fashions.
Horsham College will host its talent showcase of student work at 2pm each day in the auditorium. The showcase will feature a display of creations from students, with textile students modelling their own garments.
Performers from the school’s upcoming production of School of Rock will hit the stage to belt out some songs.
A special musical performance – yet to be announced – will entertain crowds as part of the event’s first ever Twilight Day on Tuesday.
The performance will start at 6.15pm in the auditorium.
