The electricity distribution company covering Western Victoria has released its 2021-25 proposal for public comment today.
It includes an offer to reduce annual network charges by 5.4%, or $24 for residential customers and by $90 for business customers, in 2021.
Under this proposal, the annual charges would become $412 and $1,582 for residential and business customers respectively.
A statement from PowerCor on Wednesday said "these prices are proposed to remain flat in real terms over the four years from 2022 to 2025".
The Wimmera could also share in tens of millions of dollars worth of investment in renewable energy under the plan.
A spokesman said one of the major projects it had planned over these five years was $121 million worth of works "connecting wind farms in Victoria’s southern region and solar farms in the north".
"Our forecasts for the next regulatory period are based on the Victorian Government’s policy to ensure that renewable generation supplies 40% of our electricity needs by 2025," the spokesman said.
"The allocation... includes all renewable connection across our distribution area including the Wimmera."
The public has until April 30 to leave feedback on the proposal, via the website www.talkingelectricity.com.au.
