In a remarkable display, not one Homers bowler went for more than eight runs from their allotted two overs.
The sensational effort proved that you don’t have to bowl a side out to win a grand final.
Dunmunkle lost just four wickets but were restricted to 72 runs from 22 overs.
Jesse Fischer top scored for the Renegades with 19 not out.
Blake Downer was the only other batsman to reach double figures, finishing with 10 retired.
The best bowler for Homers Red was Jackson Gabbe, with figures of 1 for 2.
When Homers Red batted, it was Jett Hopper who got them off to a blazing start before he retired.
A flurry of wickets then put Renegades Red right back in the match.
However, getting a quick bag of wickets turned out to be a double-edged sword for the Renegades, because it meant that the retired Jett Hopper could return to the crease and guide his side to victory.
And that’s exactly what the young gun did.
Hopper's brilliant innings of 34 not out included five 4s and two 6s.
He was the only player to reach double figures.
Max Bunworth was next best with 9.
The best bowler for the Renegades was Keylan Ryan, ending with the tidy figures of 2 for 6.
UNDER 16.5
The same teams, Homers and Dunmunkle Renegades, followed their under 14 clubmates into the under 16.5 grand final.
In an astonishing reflection of the early game, it was Homers who got the spoils.
They likewise got there through tight bowling and, again, it was Jett Hopper stepping up to top score.
The Renegades could only manages 4/66.
Logan Petering (22) and Deacon Campbell (19 not out) were the only batsmen to fire.
Baxter Perry was the standout bowler for Homers, finishing up with the outstanding figures of 1 for 8 from five overs.
Homers achieved their target with five overs to spare.
Hopper finished with 29 in an innings that included six 4s.
He was well supported by Paddy Mills, who finished not out on 18.
Mackenzie Marra made 11 not out.
Bailey Young bowled well to be the pick of the Dunmunkle attack, taking an impressive 2 for 9 from his five overs.
Hopper’s great day was recognised when he received the player of the match award for the under 16.5 grand final.
