In a close contest against Horsham Lawn in Saturday's Central Wimmera Tennis Association preliminary final, Kalkee shone when it mattered most, winning crucial points and quickly gaining the ascendancy.
Kalkee won two tiebreakers, one set 8-6 and three others 8-5 to advance to the grand final against St Michael's.
The final two sets were not played as the result was already decided.
Kalkee captain Grant Schultz said getting contributions from every player was the most pleasing thing about Saturday's performance.
"It was an awesome win, we're really happy with it," he said.
"There were no real standouts. It wasn't just relying on all the men or all the women winning their sets, it was an even contribution across the board. That was the main key.
"Hopefully we will be able to do the same - and then some - against St Michael's next week."
Schultz said his side was fortunate to win crucial points in the tight sets.
Kalkee's Steve Schultz edged out Graeme Wood 8-7 in an epic singles contest, while Grant Schultz and David Pipkorn also secured a win in a tiebreaker against Lawn's Hayden Farlow and Shane Gillespie.
"We came out on top in most of the close matches. It could have gone either way a few times but we were happy to be on the lucky end of it," Schultz said.
Cherie Wood was a shining light for Lawn, playing in all three of their set victories. A highlight came when Wood teamed up with Rachel McKinnon for a tight 8-7 win against Paula Weidermann and Hayley Thomas, when other close matches were going the way of the Kees.
But it wasn't quite enough, as Kalkee secured the win 9-85 to 3-67.
After getting bundled out early in the finals last season, and several years without a grand final appearance, Schultz said it was exciting to make it through to the big dance.
"We sort of haven't been there for a while - a lot of our team has played in a grand final before but that was a fair few years ago," he said.
"Hopefully that experience will help us out."
Schultz said the team would need to be in top form to upset St Michael's.
"Everyone knows you have to play your absolute best on the day to beat them," he said. "But we'll give it a crack."
In other grades, Brimpaen finished strongly to get past Natimuk 8-91 to 6-76.
Natimuk took an early lead in the match, winning three of the first four doubles contests and splitting the singles to be up 5-3.
But Brimpaen came home strong, winning all but one of the final doubles contests to post an 8-91 to 6-76 victory.
Brimpaen will take on Central Park Red in the grand final next week.
In A Grade, Central Park proved too good for Horsham Lawn with a 9-85 to 3-73 victory. They will face St Michael's in the decider on Saturday.
In B Special, Drung South won through to the grand final with a tight two-set victory against Horsham Lawn.
Drung South fought back after losing the first four doubles contests, ultimately prevailing 9-74 to 7-60.
The team will play Natimuk for the premiership.
