Wimmera agent Bill Ower said the two blocks are located in Beulah West, which has been known to be "some of the best farming country" in the region.
The first block of 640 acres sold for $2510 an acre while the second of the same size sold for $2750 an acre.
Mr Ower said the two parcels of farmland sold for a higher price than originally expected.
He said "exceptionally good country" rarely came on the market, therefore, it was highly sought after when it does come up for sale.
"There was keen competition and it came down to the fact that two people wanted the land," he said.
"That's the beauty of an auction of course. We never know what a property will make when more than one person wants it."
The two blocks were sold to neighbouring landowners.
Mr Ower said rural farmland has been consistently increasing in price in the past 10 years.
"Prices of rural farm land have been rising ever since we had low interest rates - over the last 10 years in the Wimmera particularly, but its rolling out into other districts like the Southern Mallee and Central Victoria," he said. "Land is making good money in all districts.
"The Beulah West country, however, is regarded as some of the best farming country in the Southern Mallee and its difficult to compare to the Wimmera farmland because the soil types and rainfall is different.
"People always say to me that anyone in the Beulah West area is in a very favoured area."
