The three-time reigning premiers have a chance at a historic fourth straight premiership when they take on Kalkee on Saturday.
It would be the first time the club has won four consecutive pennant flags.
"We know what it takes to win but there will still be some nerves there," St Michael's captain Chris Ellis said.
"Kalkee have a good side so it should be an interesting contest."

Leading the charge for St Michael's will be young gun Jess McDonald.
McDonald has been a crucial part of her club's recent success, with her first pennant season coinciding with the first of three consecutive premierships for St Michael's.
"I have been lucky enough to play in some very good sides the last few years," she said.
"We have a fair bit of depth in this team with no weak players so hopefully we can do it again on Saturday."
At just 17-years-old McDonald has already developed into a special talent in the competition.
She said she is looking to follow in the footsteps of sister Steffi and play college tennis in the United States.
"I'm with an agency at the moment so hopefully I'll get a scholarship and head over there too," she said.
"I wasn't too sure if I wanted to go but seeing Steffi over there enjoying it has given me the passion to do the same."
McDonald said she hopes for a scholarship in January and to end up "somewhere warm".
"Honestly I would be happy wherever, but somewhere like Florida would be cool," she said.
"I'll be studying over there if I go, then I will just see where my tennis takes me."

The young gun has risen through the CWTA ranks and will play a key role in the grand final this weekend.
She said playing in the pennant competition as a junior has helped her tennis exponentially.
"Obviously because I've played senior tennis at a young age it has helped me mature quickly," she said.
"Getting advice from people older than me and giving me tips has been great."
Kalkee captain Grant Schultz said St Michael's women's section - including McDonald - will make for an interesting contest.
"We are pretty happy to be in the final. it's been a few years since we have been in one," he said.
"They are very strong as everyone knows and will be hard to beat.
"We don't have anything to lose - hopefully we can just play our best tennis and put it up to them."
