The association was nominated in the A Sport For All Awards, which celebrate the associations and people who contribute to growth, diversity and inclusion in cricket.
The association's work was highlighted in front of the Victorian cricket community at an awards presentation night in Melbourne on Thursday.
Wimmera-Mallee was a finalist in the Community Cricket Initiative of the Year award for its junior program, and an initiative to live stream matches on Facebook during the 2018-19 season.
Association president Ben Duxson told the Mail-Times earlier this week the club was proud to be recognised for its contributions.
"We'll keep on with the ideas and different things to keep moving forward - we will put a bit more emphasis on female participation moving forward, which has been really on the rise," he said.
"We're just lucky the volunteers are good, the cricketers are good and we're making an environment that is good to come and play in."
Meanwhile, former Horsham man Jeremey Byrne won the Community Cricket Coach of the Year award.
Byrne now lives in Buninyong and coaches the Ballarat Women's Cricket Club - the Bolts - and Buninyong Cricket Club teams.
He formerly played for and coached the Horsham Saints in Horsham Cricket Association.
