New analysis by the Regional Australia Institute suggests there will be an extra 1600 jobs in healthcare and social assistance across northwestern Victoria by 2023.

On Monday, the think tank unveiled its Healthy Check-Up analysis in Hobart, which showed this industry will see the biggest growth in job numbers of any in Australia over the next five years.
A spokeswoman said as of May last year, there were 11,500 jobs in the Healthcare and Social Assistance Sector, which encompasses Horsham, Mildura, Swan Hill and Ararat among other areas.

"By May 2023, this is projected to increase by 13.8% so that there will be 13,100 jobs," she said.
The institute also has a regional jobs vacnacy map, which shows there are currently 111 unfilled roles for doctors, nurses, therapists and social welfare professionals across northwestern Victoria.
This accounts for 20% of all unfilled positions in the region.
