Dalgleish will get the chance to umpire VFL women's and NAB League matches across the season as he continues to improve his umpiring craft.
Dalgleish was in the VFL rookie squad the last two years.
"It's really good, I've been working at trying to get onto the list for a few years now so it's really rewarding," Dalgleish said.
"Now I get exposed to a higher standard of footy, some higher coaching and feedback."
Getting onto the development list is one step further for Dalgleish, who has pursued his passion for umpiring for quite a few years.
"The long term goal is the AFL, but short term is just trying to keep progressing each week," Dalgleish said.
"Hopefully I can be consistent enough to get a few games with the NAB League boys this season."
Dalgleish said one thing he was hoping to improve upon was his fitness.
"The decision making and stuff is fine, but I need to increase that fitness," Dalgleish said.
"It's all about having that mental awarness throughout the whole game and to keep your focus."
Dalgleish said he was grateful for all of the support he has had from the community as he pursues his umpiring dream.
"I just want to say thank you to everyone that has supported me through the years and helped me out, with sponsorship or with just general support," he said.
