The forum will be held on Monday, April 15 from 6pm at the Nhill Memorial Community Centre.
Hindmarsh Mayor Ron Ismay said a number of candidates had already confirmed they would attend the forum.
They are Nationals candidate Dr Anne Webster, Labor candidate Carole Hart, Independent candidate Ray Kingston, Citizens Electoral Council candidate Christopher Lahy, Science Party candidate Leigh Firman, Independent candidate Cecilia Moar and Independent candidate Jason Modica.
"We are just waiting for confirmation from the Liberal Party candidate, but everyone else is planning to be there," Mr Ismay said.
"The forum will be independently facilitated by Jessica Grimble, editor of the Wimmera Mail-Times, and each candidate will be allocated a set time to individually address the audience. This will then be followed by an open question and answer session from the floor.
"This will be an excellent opportunity for the participating candidates to present themselves to their Wimmera Southern Mallee constituents while at the same time it will allow residents to get to know the candidates."
It is unclear whether newly announced United Australia Party candidate Rick Millar will attend the forum.
Unconfirmed Independent candidate Allen Ridgeway spoke at the Mallee Climate Action Group's forum in Mildura last week. It is unclear whether Mr Ridegeway will attend the forum in Nhill.
The federal election will be held on May 18.
