Horsham's Austin McKenzie has made an impact at Australia's top junior basketball tournament.
Representing Victoria Country at the Australian Junior Basketball Championships, McKenzie had been given playing time in all four of their matches across the first three days of competition.
He twice scored in the double digits as Victoria Country have gone undefeated in their first four games.
McKenzie started the tournament well, scoring seven points in his teams commanding 30 point victory against ACT.
His best performance thus far came in game two against Western Australia Metro, where McKenzie scored 13 points and shot an accurate 6-9 from the field. McKenzie also secured five defensive rebounds in the match.
His form carried on into game four where he filled the stat sheet with 10 points, four rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist against Queensland South.
Although he is a bottom age player, McKenzie has been getting the opportunities and performing excellently thus far.
The side have two more games against South Australia Metro and Northern Territory before finals.
