Half the building is comprised of the college's new administration block, which includes the new main office, a staff lounge and boardrooms.
The other half is the senior centre which features general learning classrooms, an Agra (amphitheatre) for assemblies, tutorial rooms and a science lab.
There is also a yet to be opened cafe which will be run by the school's VCAL students.
The college was given the green light to expand into Year 12 in 2016. It received $1.67 million towards the senior school expansion project in 2017 through a capital grants program.
Principal Daniel Weller said students moved into the building at the start of Term Two.
"We feel really lucky to have had the support of our school community throughout the project. It's been a year since the ground was broken and a long time coming before that. This is a very welcome addition to the school for sure," he said.
"Having the flexible and agile learning learning for students to work in large or small groups is a big bonus, especially with creating a cohort of creative thinkers. The Agra, or tiered seating area, is fantastic for larger groups and enables a sense of community."
Mr Weller said the next stage of expansions at the school would start in 2020.
Head of senior school Sally Kuchel said the expansion had come about over a number of years.
"It was based on the needs of our cohort and what our parents wanted from the school. It's been something we've wanted to do for a long time, but that push needed to come from the community," she said.
"We've tried to look at the needs of a more mature learner and create spaces that are more suited their learning; the spaces can be flexible when they need to work individually or in small groups."
Mrs Kuchel said the college would continue to grow its science, technology, engineering, and mathematics capacity in the project's next stage.
"The next stage will include another since lab. It just provides an opportunity for our students to take those subjects if they want to," she said.
The second stage will also feature a sports science area and provide a second gymnasium for the school.
