After an even first term, the Storm blew the game open in the second quarter to take a commanding 11 goal lead at half time.
But Pimpinio rallied in the second half and held their opponents to just six goals in the final quarter to ensure an exciting finish.
Jeparit-Rainbow co-coach Ashleigh Morrison said she was overjoyed to come away with victory.
"It was so nerve-racking in the end," Morrison said.
"Pimp came out firing and really rattled us after half time.
"It was a bit of an ugly win ... we had a pretty average second half, but we managed to hang in there."
Morrison said she was pleased with her team's fight in the dying stages of the game.
She said the performance demonstrated their improvement this season.
"Although it wasn't quite the win we wanted, it was probably still good to know that we could hang in there in that last quarter like we did, whereas in previous years we might have dropped our heads and let them run over the top of us," Morrison said.
Morrison said it was two of the team's experienced campaigners who stepped up in the final term, with co-coach Bridget McKenzie and long-time Storm player Ebony Spokes providing important on-court leadership.
"Bridget stepped up in the last quarter like she always does. She got her hands to a lot of balls and created a contest," Morrison said.
"Ebony was probably our most consistent over four quarters. She was a really steady hand when we needed it."
Harrow-Balmoral meanwhile showed their strength with an impressive 18 goal win against Edenhope-Apsley.
Both teams entered the contest undefeated but it was the Southern Roos who flexed their muscle, powering away in a 16-6 second term that set up the win.
Harrow-Balmoral coach Ebonie Salter said the team still had things to improve upon.
"We are really happy with today, we've got heaps to work on but I think we're probably where we thought we would be, and where we knew we could be at this stage," Salter said.
Moving forward, Harrow-Balmoral look set to give Laharum their biggest challenge of the season when they face off next round.
"They're going to be really tough, they're in some really good form, so we will just focus on what we are doing and go in with the same focus and intensity. It should be a good game," Salter said.
