"I'm known as Tuna down there," she said. "One of the footballer's children nicknamed me that."

"His mother told him to call out to Una, it's her birthday today, and he said 'it's not Una, it's Tuna.

"So, everyone just calls me Tuna, and I think it's stuck around for nearly 20 years."

Faux had always supported the Demons, but fully committed to the club in the mid 1970s thanks to a quick-fire decision.

"My friend owned the Commercial Hotel, and I was there one night, and some of the football ladies came in on their way to Adelaide for the end of year trip," she said.

"They said why don't you come with us; there was a bed already paid for.

"So, I had half an hour to run around and go home to pack some clothes. Brian from the pub gave me some money to go.

"I joined the club next year, straight away."

The Horsham Demons had always been a family affair for Una Faux.

"My late husband, his great-grandfather was playing there in the 1890s or somewhere around there. All his relatives played too and my son, Glenn, is actually a life member."

The beloved 'Tuna' has helped tirelessly around the club, making slices and sandwiches, setting tables and making sure the umpires are fed and cared for.

"I also sold the raffle for over 30 years, and one thing I am very proud of is I always found the winner. Whether it was the grand final or only 50 people there I'd always track them down," she said.

Una Faux said there was no sign of slowing down yet.

"I'm just still loving it," she said.

"Since turning 82, it just gives me something to do, and they just show me so much respect down there."
