Figures from the Australian Electoral Commission show in the three weeks pre-polling booths were available across the electorate, 44,182 voted, 6417 on Friday alone.
That overall number includes 10,711 at the Horsham site on Firebrace Street, which was only open for two weeks.
This represents an increase from the 9003 who voted early in the city at the 2016 election.
The latest data shows there were 113,778 people of voting age in the electorate as of April.
With 20 per cent of votes in Mallee still to be counted, just under eleven per cent of all votes at this election were informal, meaning they were not included in the overall result.
A vote is regarded as informal if the ballot paper has not been completed properly, such as not being marked at all or having writing on it which identifies the voter.
