A team will be selected from the squad of 35 for each of Victoria Country's four games at the AFL National Championships.
The Championships see the best young football talent in the country compete and showcase their talent to AFL recruiters.
"I can't wait," Martin said.
"We play a trial match against the Allies (NSW/Tasmania) this Sunday and they will pick the first team pretty much from that.
"I'll just go out there and play to my strengths, try to enjoy the moment and hopefully give it my all."
Victoria Country's first competitive match at the Championships will be at the MCG, in a curtain raiser for the AFL clash between Collingwood and Fremantle.
Martin said he hoped to earn that incredible opportunity.
"It'd be unreal to play on the best footy oval in the world," Martin said. "I just hope I get that chance."
Victoria Country will then play the Allies in Launceston, South Australia in Geelong. and Western Australia at Marvel Stadium.
Martin has been showing his versatility in the NAB League this season, pushing into a midfield role with the Greater Western Victoria Rebels.
"It's been a good change, just getting under the feet of the ruckman and getting my hands on the footy a bit more," Martin said.
"One thing I've been working on pretty hard is building that fitness base, and I'm still working on it so I can keep running all day.
"Nobody is perfect, so working on those weaknesses and turning them into strengths is something I'm determined to do."
Greater Western Victoria Rebels talent manager Phil Partington said Martin had shown a lot of promise across the last two seasons.
"We've been very pleased with Mitch's output, he's got a lot of x-factor about him. He can do a lot of thing other players can't," Partington said.
"He's got a bright future in the game. Hopefully he can get some good form through Victoria Country's trial game this weekend and continue on that to get some games at the Championships."
Victoria Country's under-16 squads will be finalised after their final trial game against the Diversity All Star team at Windy Hill on Saturday.
Horsham Saints' Ella Friend has also been named in the extended squad for the under-16 girls side.
